Reflect
Your Story: A Reflective Biography
This gentle template invites you to trace your own lifeline, so you can meet yourself with fresh eyes and notice what has shaped you.
As you write, let these prompts guide you:
- Write a quick review of your lifeline and milestones: where you were born, the people who raised you, the moments that mattered.
- What have you learnt about yourself so far? Which moments or scenes come into view that feel most like you?
- List your gifts and talents.
- What do you enjoy doing?
- What holds you back from doing what you enjoy?
- Identify any current issues, misalignments, or blocks standing between you and your joyful freedom.
Feel
Checking In With Your Emotions
Checking in with how you feel is an important part of the Joyful Freedom Approach to energy restoration. This guide draws on the work of Brené Brown in Atlas of the Heart: Mapping Meaningful Connection and the Language of Human Experience (2021), which maps eighty-seven emotions into meaningful groupings.
The practice itself is simple. Pause, breathe, and ask yourself:
- How are you feeling right now?
- What comes to mind? Let this arise from your heart, which comes quickly when it is true.
- Notice which emotions are present, and whether they gather into a pattern or a theme.
The full guide, with Brené Brown's emotion groupings to reflect against, is shared with clients during sessions and available on request.

A Self-Guided Summary
If you would like a taste of the journey on your own, this three-step summary walks you gently through it.
Step 1: Reflect
- What do I enjoy doing? Write a brief bio and reflect on your life so far, from childhood to the present.
Step 2: The Five Energies (PECAN)
For each quality of energy restoration (Purposeful, Expansive, Connecting, Awe-inspiring, and Nourishing), gently ask:
- How is this quality woven into my life?
- How important is it to me?
- How does it affect my energy?
- What needs to be addressed?
- Does it bring up any blocking thoughts or behaviours?
Step 3: Your Blueprint for Lifelong Energy Creation
- What stands in the way of living in full joyful freedom?
- Which blocks, attachments, fears or tensions can you identify? Note as many as arise, then focus on just one at a time.
- Draft a simple action plan: what you do, or plan to do, that is Purposeful, Expansive, Connecting, Awe-inspiring, and Nourishing, with a gentle timescale and a few notes to self.
