Free-dance & Movement

Move, and Let the Body
Remember Joy

Free-dance is an embodied, somatic practice of moving stuck energy, expressing what words cannot, and coming home to the body. It is another gentle path toward joy and freedom, woven through the Joyful Freedom Approach.

The Practice

What Free-dance Is

Free-dance is unchoreographed, intuitive movement. There are no steps to learn, no one watching, and no way to do it wrong. You simply let the music move you, and follow where the body wants to go.

It is a somatic practice: a way of letting the body process and release what the thinking mind cannot always reach. Grief, tension, restlessness and joy all move more freely when the body is allowed to speak.

For Marilynne, movement has always been part of the Joyful Freedom Approach, an embodied companion to the quieter work of hypnotherapy and reflection.

What It Offers

Why We Move

  • A gentle way to move stuck or heavy energy through the body.
  • Expression and release for what is hard to put into words.
  • A reconnection with the body, the breath, and the present moment.
  • Wildness, grace, play and joy, in equal measure.
  • A sense of the sacred in something as simple as moving to music.

Wildness, fun, grace, expression, authenticity, awe, openness, beauty, harmony, and heart are all welcome on the floor. You bring whatever you are carrying, and let the movement do the rest.
